This winter, Alysia was able to visit with arts education stakeholders all across the state and beyond. Here are a few highlights:

  • 1/14: Alysia delivered the Keynote Address for the Florida Music Education Association’s 2021 Conference.

  • 1/11: Celebrated Maryland Arts Day with Maryland Citizens for the Arts in a virtual space with over 300 Marylanders. 

  • 1/16: Attended the 2021 Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Center Annual Partner Luncheon to learn more about LTYC’s mission and vision and newest initiatives to impact youth and families through arts education. The event featured host, Dionne Joyner-Weems of the AudaCity Group, Keynote Speaker and Owner of Mess In A Bottle, Kalilah Wright, a cooking demonstration by Executive Chef Aaron Taylor of the Atlas Restaurant Group, guest speaker and live performance by Brave Williams, student performances, artist collaboration, a virtual arts gallery, and more!

  • All Month, MSAC OST Networking Events: Alysia and Lillian shared free professional learning opportunities for teaching artists. The event connected teaching artists with out of school time programming with organizations and community schools interested in working with them.

  • 1/19: Alysia presented a live presentation at the New Jersey Music Educators Association’s 2021 Virtual Conference. The session, Moving from Cultural Competence to Anti-Racism shared the MSDE Fine Arts Office Professional Learning Framework.
