The Virtual Glue: Keeping Kids Connected To Your School Through A Video “News” Show
Course Description: The session is designed for educators from all content areas. Video-driven "news" shows connect students, families, and the community. Collecting and compiling video content from your school community, ranging from read-alouds to exercises, hobbies, and careers to SEL-based strategies, will grow a school's bond BEYOND the virtual classroom. Learn how to structure, solicit, sequence, and share as one cohesive show.
1. Craft goals and a vision of your school's video show
2. Strategically plan the methods and modes of soliciting video content
3. Implement media arts skills such as storyboarding, scripting, and video editing
4. Develop a mode of delivering the content and receiving feedback
Facilitator: Todd Pozen
Bio: Todd Pozen is a National Board Certified Technology/Media Arts Instructional Lead Teacher at Whitehall ES. He guides both students to see technology as a tool for expression and teachers to embrace tech integration that makes them feel empowered. His filmmakers’ club recently won multiple awards at the PGCPS Film Fest.
