Building Relationships and Community Through Restorative Practices and Virtues Language
Course Description: The session is designed for educators from all content areas. In this session, participants will engage in ways to build relationships with their students by using virtues language and Restorative Practices. Participants will learn about Restorative Practices techniques and learn a variety of ways to guide their students in building a class family community.
1. Participants will engage in ways to build positive relationships by using virtues language.
2. Participants will learn ways to incorporate Restorative Practices strategies into their classrooms.
3. Participants will explore a variety of ways to create a positive and productive learning community.
Facilitator: Nina Arlotta
Bio: Nina Arlotta is an elementary art educator at Norwood Elementary School in Dundalk, MD. She has six years of teaching experience in a Title I school. She focuses on building positive relationships with her student artists and creating productive and collaborative class communities.
